Meta Launches Threads as a Twitter CompetitorWithin two hours, Threads gained 2 million users by linking Instagram’s nearly 2 billion active accounts globally.
- Threads was released unexpectedly earlier than planned, allowing easy sign-up via Instagram account connections.
- Users can post text up to 500 characters, photos, and videos up to five minutes, with sharing through Instagram Stories.
- The feed is curated algorithmically, combining followed accounts with recommended profiles rather than showing posts chronologically.
- Despite Meta’s recent challenges, Threads quickly attracted significant user interest and engagement.
