Trump Proposes $1.5 Trillion Defense Budget BoostThe 2027 plan includes a 44% increase in military spending and cuts exceeding $73 billion in domestic programs.
- President Trump requests a historic $1.5 trillion defense budget for 2027, marking the largest ever proposed.
- The plan calls for a 44% rise in military expenditures alongside significant reductions in non-defense spending.
- Over $73 billion would be cut from domestic sectors including housing, education, healthcare, and the environment.
- Critics argue the proposal overlooks essential social services and prioritizes military spending excessively.
