Quick Glance: New US-Russian Crew Successfully Launched to ISS
  • A SpaceX rocket successfully launched from Florida with a mixed crew of US astronauts and a Russian cosmonaut to the International Space Station (ISS) to begin a six-month science mission in Earth orbit.

  • The launch took place from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral along Florida's Atlantic coast.

  • After a 16-hour flight, the four crew members are expected to reach the space station early tomorrow and dock with the orbital lab at an altitude of about 420 km above Earth.

  • Upon arrival, the members of the eighth crew will be greeted at the space station by seven current crew members, including three Russians and four astronauts from the seventh crew.
