- On September 21, Trump cut the ribbon on the new granite helipad at the South Lawn with golden scissors.
- The pad bears the U.S. seal and was built for the heavier VH-92A Patriot, which emits more heat.
- Earlier, television networks suspended the TV pool after the White House barred CNN; C-SPAN would not show the event without the feed.
- The White House streamed the ceremony on social media, but running Marine One drowned out Trump’s remarks.
Access changes are nothing new. What is new, however, is the sudden claim that it becomes sacred only when the outlets are friendly to the Radical Left. The rule was never 'every outlet gets in.' It was always 'our side stays in.'— White House spokesperson statement responding to media access and pool coverage restrictions
