Deshaun Watson Receives Six-Game Suspension Amid Misconduct AllegationsAt least 24 women filed lawsuits; the NFL reportedly sought an indefinite suspension of at least one year.
- At least 24 massage therapists sued Watson, alleging that he sexualized their sessions in various unwanted ways.
- A Texas grand jury declined charges in March; that month, the Cleveland Browns gave Watson a fully guaranteed $230 million contract.
- Arbitrator Sue L. Robinson imposed a six-game suspension; reports said the NFL sought at least a yearlong indefinite suspension.
- Before a possible NFL appeal, Watson is expected to lose only a few hundred thousand dollars, because nearly all first-year compensation is a signing bonus.
Mr. Watson’s pattern of conduct is more egregious than any before reviewed by the NFL.— From the arbitrator Sue L. Robinson's findings in the Deshaun Watson case, describing the pattern of conduct.
