Miami Beach responded to repeated spring break violence by imposing stringent safety protocols.

Measures include parking limits, higher fees, curfews, and beach searches throughout March.

The city saw increased hotel occupancy and business support in 2024 due to the enhanced security.

Some argue the restrictions target Black visitors, but the mayor firmly denies any racial motivation.

We are going to keep people safe. Law and order is the number one priority in our city. There is no compromising on that.
— Steven Meiner, Mayor of Miami Beach, on public-safety policy during spring break in Miami Beach.
