- Carlsen, Marc-Uwe Kling and Astrid Henn brought their case against OpenAI before the Munich I Regional Court on August 19, 2026.
- The publisher says simple prompts can make ChatGPT produce closely similar stories and illustrations, as well as unsolicited print files with a cover, imprint and fictitious ISBN.
- Carlsen concludes from the high level of detail that the original works may have been unlawfully used to train language and image models and stored in the dataset.
- According to Heise, Christian Schumacher-Gebler is seeking an injunction, information about possible misconduct and damages, while disclosure could also be important for other publishers.
