- Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov said Ukraine may deliberately reduce mobile service quality during Russian drone attacks.
- The proposal would not cut mobile communications entirely, but lower 4G and 5G quality in certain areas.
- The aim is to prevent modems aboard unmanned aircraft from accessing the internet of Ukrainian communications operators.
- Russia has frequently ordered mobile internet shutdowns during the war to disrupt Ukrainian drone attacks.
"This is not a disruption of mobile communications, but rather a restriction on the quality of communications in certain areas, like a restriction on 4G and 5G communication," Hnatov told Ukrainian online video channel Novyny Live.— Andriy Hnatov, Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine, as quoted by Reuters; speaking to Novyny Live
