- The partial closure order covers Henry Court in Millfield, adjoining land, gardens, communal areas, stairwells, pathways, private parking spaces and outdoor areas up to the public highway boundary.
- Access is prohibited at all times except for lawful tenants and their visitors, the landlord or agents, and emergency-service personnel.
- Cambridgeshire Police said the measure followed frequent reports of anti-social behaviour and drug misuse.
- Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court granted the order on 14 May after an application by Peterborough’s City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team; it remains in force until 14 August, and breaches can constitute a criminal offence punishable by up to three months’ imprisonment, a fine, or both.
Since starting my role, this area has been a concern due to the significant impact the actions of those causing the issues are having on the residents. I hope this order shows local community that we remain dedicated to tackling their concerns, and anyone with information about breaches are to report to us so we can take action.— Said by PC Kirsten Hay of the Peterborough City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team, commenting on the partial closure order to tackle anti-social behaviour
