Paxton plans criminal complaints against impeachment managersThe attorney general alleges the 12 lawmakers violated a new doxxing law by publishing personal information, including his home address.
- Paxton says he will file the complaints in the eight home counties represented by the twelve impeachment managers.
- House Bill 611 makes doxxing with intent to cause harm a Class B misdemeanor.
- Chairman Andrew Murr rejected the allegations, saying unredacted information was addressed promptly after the House learned about it.
- It remains unclear whether district attorneys will pursue the complaints; the announcement came on the third special session’s opening day.
"Growing up on a ranch, I was taught to keep the manure on the outside of my boots," Murr wrote in part. "Mr. Paxton’s baseless threats about filing criminal complaints are horse manure, and they are filling his boots full."— Rep. Andrew Murr, the Junction Republican who served as chairman of the House impeachment managers, in a statement responding to Paxton.
