New James Bond Novel
Key FactsNew James Bond Novel 'King Zero' Announced
Apr 4, 2026 · Reading time: ~45 sec.
Summary created with AI assistance · Source: movieweb.com
  • Charlie Higson has been commissioned to write the next James Bond novel, titled 'King Zero,' set for release in September 2026.

  • The plot involves a murdered agent in the Saudi desert and a traitor inside the British government.

  • Classic Bond themes such as betrayal, a ticking clock, and worldwide travel are central to the story.

  • The novel introduces a formidable new antagonist who challenges Bond in unprecedented ways.
    • It's very exciting. It is very hard to get people excited about books, so when the publisher goes to this level of effort, it says a lot. There I finally am after over 20 years of toiling in the world of writing James Bond! My first big, full-length Bond novel is coming out, and it's really exciting to be part of the world of James Bond. It's something special.
    — Charlie Higson, author of the Young Bond series, on being commissioned to write his first full-length adult James Bond continuation novel (King Zero) and the emotional significance of the opportunity
