Bayer’s Coaching Decision Crucial for Eichhorn DealBayer 04 must appoint a new coach this week or lose Hertha’s top talent Kennet Eichhorn, jeopardizing their transfer plans.
- Bayer 04 faces mounting pressure to name a new head coach this week to strengthen their squad as Europa League participants.
- The pool of suitable coaching candidates has diminished after failed pursuits including Erik ten Hag and Kasper Hjulmand.
- Kennet Eichhorn will only commit to Bayer if the club confirms its new coach, making the decision vital for the transfer.
- Although management claims players choose the club over coaches, Eichhorn views the vacancy as a deal-breaker.

- Eichhorn had only recently moved from Hertha BSC to Leverkusen for a nine-million-euro fee and was initially firmly included in the plans for the new season.
- According to Bayer, the diagnosis followed excessive physical strain and weight loss, after which Eichhorn entered inpatient treatment at a specialised clinic.
- His workload has reportedly been reduced completely, and he is not expected to resume a programme until his weight and strength problems have been identified and resolved.
- According to the report, the absence is affecting central-midfield transfer planning, with at most one of Equi Fernandez, Aleix Garcia and Robert Andrich allowed to leave, while Bild reports that Exequiel Palacios wants to move.
