- In 1998, Tomoaki Hamatsu, known as Nasubi, was chosen for Susunu! Denpa Shōnen without contracts or protections.
- He lived naked in a Tokyo apartment for over a year, relying entirely on winning prizes from magazines for survival.
- The show attracted up to 17 million viewers weekly, blurring lines between entertainment and a human experiment.
- Following the ordeal, Nasubi engaged in Fukushima's reconstruction, climbed Mount Everest, and processed his experience as a journey of healing.
At the end of my time on Denpa Shōnen, there was a big hole in my heart, because humans could be so cruel just in order to make an interesting, popular program.— Tomoaki 'Nasubi' Hamatsu, reflecting on the impact of his experiences on the reality show.
