Klopp Skips Trainer Congress Opening SpeechThree days after his DFB appointment, Klopp avoided media hype by canceling his Mainz speech at the 68th international coaches congress.
- Jürgen Klopp canceled his keynote address at the 68th international coaches congress in Mainz to prevent early negative media attention.
- DFB sports director Rudi Völler highlighted defensive weaknesses and lack of resilience within the national team during his hour-long talk.
- Völler stressed the importance of key players like Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry and anticipates Klopp implementing more intense gegenpressing tactics.
- Transitions in the coaching staff, including cooperation with Sven Bender and Per Mertesacker, were underlined as vital for the team's fresh start.
I was supposed to be here live and in color at the congress. But events have overtaken things. I don’t want to start as national team coach by making headlines again, before any game has even taken place.— Jürgen Klopp, video message explaining why he canceled his opening address at the Mainz trainer congress to avoid creating headlines before any game has been played.
