Blue Origin Unveils Advanced Space Tug Blue RingBlue Ring aims to transport payloads over three tons with versatile missions starting realistically in 2025, enhancing orbital logistics.
- Blue Origin introduced Blue Ring to serve commercial and government users in mid-Earth orbit up to the cislunar space.
- Its hybrid propulsion system integrates chemical and solar-electric engines for rapid maneuvers and efficient orbit changes.
- The platform delivers end-to-end services including hosting, transport, refueling, data relay, and in-space cloud computing.
- Designed for a five-year operation, Blue Ring can be refueled on orbit and is expected to launch by 2025.
"Blue Ring addresses two of the most challenging issues in today's spaceflight: the growing space infrastructure and the increasing mobility in orbit," said Paul Ebertz, Senior Vice President of the new In-Space Systems division, in the press release.— Paul Ebertz, Senior Vice President of the new In-Space Systems division, in the press release.

- The New Glenn rocket's reusable booster touched down successfully about ten minutes after launching from Cape Canaveral.
- AST SpaceMobile's BlueBird 7 satellite was placed into a lower orbit than intended, preventing sustainable operation.
- This third New Glenn mission demonstrated booster reuse capabilities, highlighting Blue Origin’s competition with SpaceX.
- Plans include developing a larger rocket variant and advancing lunar lander technologies for upcoming space exploration.
While the satellite separated from the launch vehicle and powered on, the altitude is too low to sustain operations with its on-board thruster technology and will be de-orbited.— AST SpaceMobile said in a statement
