- A more compact default view with fewer entries is being tested first; the feature is gradually distributed in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26340.9212 and therefore does not appear automatically for all testers.
- Through “Customize menu,” users can individually show or hide Windows functions such as “Send to” and “Print,” while placing installed-program extensions in the main menu, a submenu, or nowhere.
- Key commands such as cut, copy, rename, share, and delete can again appear in a vertical list instead of a toolbar, while “Show more options” keeps the classic menu available for older programs.
- Microsoft aims to shorten the response time and assess Insider feedback before making the revised version available to regular Windows 11 users.
“overloaded and sluggish”— Microsoft acknowledged that the current variant had become overloaded and sluggish.

- Windows 11’s Properties panel has remained in light mode despite system-wide dark themes.
- A dark version emerged in build 26300.8935, specifically for the deleted files dialog interface.
- This update signals Microsoft’s intent to address longstanding visual inconsistencies in the OS.
- Wider implementation across all Properties dialogs remains uncertain and may require additional testing phases.
