During the Trojan Horse sequence, Bernthal stood neck-deep in icy water in the Moroccan desert while Christopher Nolan continued filming.

Bernthal completed his four-month Broadway run in Dog Day Afternoon at the August Wilson Theatre on July 12 without missing a performance.

His & Hers, which began Bernthal’s 2026, ranks as Netflix’s 10th most popular series ever according to the article, while his writing on Gary and The Punisher: One Last Kill brought him an Emmy and Marvel’s approval, respectively.

In 2015, Tom Holland encouraged Bernthal to audition as The Punisher, while Bernthal advised Holland to begin his Spider-Man audition with a backflip; their characters are set to meet in Brand New Day.

Go bold. Embarrass the fuck out of yourself. Look for nos. Look for people to reject you.
— Jon Bernthal, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, describing his philosophy of taking bold risks on set for The Odyssey and in his career.
