- Ben Affleck described his Justice League experience as deeply negative and its reshoots as the low point of his career.
- Affleck said Warner Bros. used Autumn Snyder’s suicide as an excuse to remove Zack Snyder and install Joss Whedon.
- Whedon took over completion, prompting two months of reshoots; Snyder finished his director’s cut four years later.
- The 2017 theatrical release grossed $661 million against a $300 million budget.
If you want the low point of my career, it was that [...] Somebody's death by suicide, that eclipses everything. And the way in which that was, I thought, frankly, used as an excuse, I just thought was one of the sh***iest things I'd ever seen.— Ben Affleck on Horowitz (Happy Sad Confused podcast), discussing Zack Snyder's Justice League firing and the fallout including Autumn Snyder's death and the reshoots
