According to the article, a clean Windows 11 installation enables Core Isolation and Virtualization-Based Security by default, which may contribute to gaming microstutters.

Disabling Memory Integrity may barely change average FPS, but it can raise 1% lows by 15–25% and eliminate stuttering.

To change the setting, the article directs users through Windows Security, Device Security, and Core Isolation Details to the Memory Integrity switch, then recommends checking with msinfo32.

The article says disabling the feature removes protection against certain kernel-level malware and therefore increases security risk.

Microsoft announced quality updates will enable Memory Integrity on eligible devices from October 2026; disabled settings should not be enabled automatically.

In the 3DMark test with a Ryzen 5 7600X, differences stayed mostly below 0.5 percent; four threads showed 2.3 percent.

In Counter-Strike 2, average frame rates were 1.7 percent lower with the setting enabled; results nevertheless varied.

In Cyberpunk 2077, average FPS fell 1.9 percent and one-percent lows 6.6 percent; the author still recommends keeping it enabled.
