- The Wittwer building is a significant landmark in Stuttgart’s city center, honored with the Hugo Häring Award in 1969.
- Architects for Future highlight that the building’s concrete exterior can last around 40 more years, with interiors up to 90 years if maintained.
- Supporters of demolition, including a Green party politician and Haus & Grund, view a new construction as an opportunity to enhance the area.
- Architects and preservationists argue for renovation over demolition, considering the latter unsustainable and a loss to the city’s architectural heritage.
Doing nothing is not a solution either. Renovation would have been technically and economically hardly feasible.— Stephanie Moch, Stuttgart Greens councillor, in an Instagram video
