Summary created with AI assistance · Source: gulfnews.com
  • Nearly six months into the Iran war, several deadlines set by Trump have passed without an apparent military response, while the Strait of Hormuz remains heavily restricted.

  • On July 22, Trump threatened US strikes on a bridge or power plant after each Iranian attack on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, but there is no indication that such retaliation occurred after the UAE linked attacks on ADNOC vessels to Iran.

  • Oman has long mediated between Washington and Tehran, leading Danny Citrinowicz, a former head of the Iran branch of Israeli military intelligence, to say that Trump’s threats could further damage the US standing in the Gulf.

  • Democratic Senator Mark Kelly also questioned the threats, describing Oman as a US security partner and an important participant in negotiations with Iran.
    • the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT.
    — Donald Trump, in remarks about Iranian attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, as reported in Gulf News.
