Pakistan announced the creation of the Army Rocket Force (ARF) ahead of its 79th Independence Day to enhance conventional military capabilities.

The ARF is tasked with conducting strikes deep inside India and reducing the operational burden on Pakistan’s artillery units.

This new command operates independently from Pakistan’s nuclear command and controls only conventionally armed rockets and missiles.

The ARF was formed in direct response to India’s evolving missile strategies to reinforce Pakistan’s conventional deterrence posture.
