- According to Wehrle, the investments are long-term, and there are no indications that the companies are changing strategy.
- Mercedes-Benz and Porsche each hold 10.4 percent of VfB Stuttgart 1893 AG, although both companies are under pressure from the industry crisis.
- Wehrle said both companies had maintained their sponsorship, whose importance he emphasized for the region and employees.
- In the 2025 financial year, the AG generated revenue of 383.6 million euros, a 22.5 million euro net profit, and equity of 83.4 million euros as of December 31.
I was already very grateful that both stayed with the sponsorship engagement. One could have said they would reduce it. But even there, the VfB’s importance for the region and, therefore, for the employees at Porsche and Mercedes is very valuable.— Alexander Wehrle, VfB Stuttgart CEO, in an interview with the Ludwigsburger Kreiszeitung
