- Southern Rail confirmed that all lines have reopened, but trains must approach Billingshurst more slowly in both directions as a safety precaution.
- Before the failure, trains were unable to call at Crawley, Christ’s Hospital, Billingshurst, Pulborough, Amberley and Arundel.
- Because trains and crews remain out of position after the line closure, delays of up to 30 minutes, short-notice changes and cancellations are still possible.
- Some services scheduled for Portsmouth Harbour will temporarily terminate and restart at Barnham, while alternative trains operate between Barnham and Portsmouth.
However, with more severe failures like this one, the route is blocked entirely.— Southern Rail spokesperson (comment on the points failure, service disruptions, and safety measures in West Sussex)

- Southern said services between Portsmouth Harbour or Bognor Regis and London Victoria would continue on their usual routes at reduced speeds through the affected area, while trains normally dividing at Horsham were to split and detach at Barnham temporarily.
- According to AA Traffic News, Station Road in Billingshurst was blocked in both directions between Myrtle Lane and Lower Station Road after a crash and level-crossing failure, with slow traffic reported nearby.
- A separate signalling fault between Southampton Central and Fareham led to delays and possible alterations, Southern said, prompting advice to allow 20 extra minutes for journeys; both disruptions were still ongoing in the latest updates.
