- CEO Jim Taiclet told investors during a third-quarter earnings call on Tuesday that the company plans to increase HIMARS production to 96 launchers per year, up from the current level of 60 launchers.
- Taiclet's announcement on Tuesday about increasing HIMARS production came just hours after POLITICO reported that Lockheed Martin had begun promising international customers that it was preparing to ramp up production, partially assuaging the Estonian, Polish, and Ukrainian governments, which had recently ordered dozens of launchers.
- Lockheed Martin is also considering expanding its Camden, Arkansas, facility.
- This means Lockheed may be asked to increase production of HIMARS launchers to 120 per year.

- The first US Himars-type missile launchers have already struck in Ukraine.
- In the case of Ukraine, the spectrum narrows since Kiev receives a limited number of launchers and cannot afford to jeopardize these valuable weapons.
- In the case of the Himars, Russian forces would have to pinpoint the launcher's location extremely rapidly and strike almost instantly because the launchers can move very swiftly.
- Launchers and other armaments can be stored in any major hangar when not in use.
