- A new police facility will open in Stourbridge town centre this year, accommodating sixty officers permanently.
- This development follows the closure of the original Victorian police station on New Road in 2017.
- The station will host neighbourhood and response teams from Stourbridge, Lye, and Dudley, previously stationed three miles away.
- The initiative aims to enhance public safety, rebuild community trust, and address the increase in violent incidents.
The West Midlands has suffered endless cuts to the policing service and the loss of officers is having a negative effect on our communities. Knife crime is on the rise and something needs to be done to tackle this urgently.— Councillor Cat Eccles, in an open letter to MP Suzanne Webb, Chief Superintendent Anthony Tagg, and Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster
