Sam Raimi Nears Deal to Direct Doctor Strange 3Raimi is set to direct Doctor Strange 3 after starting production on Send Help in January, with Rachel McAdams likely starring.
- Sam Raimi, who directed the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is close to finalizing a deal to helm Doctor Strange 3.
- Raimi’s positive experience with Marvel sets him apart from other directors who struggled with the studio’s production approach.
- Before directing the third Doctor Strange film, Raimi will begin filming the horror thriller Send Help in January, with Rachel McAdams reportedly involved.
- Doctor Strange 3 will need to address key plot points from its predecessor, including Strange’s new third eye and his adventure into the Dark Dimension.
I'm told that Raimi is definitely coming back, which is no surprise as he really seemed to enjoy working with Marvel, as opposed to other filmmakers who have struggled to adapt to the studio's process.— Jeff Sneider, industry insider, on his site The InSneider; quoted in JoBlo's article about Raimi returning to direct Doctor Strange 3
