- The remaster adds controller and ultrawide support, overhauls cooperative multiplayer, and updates models and animations across much of the game.
- The review says it largely preserves the game's distinctive atmosphere, although lip-synced mouths somewhat weaken its sense of unreality.
- Level design and objectives remain compelling, but combat feels dated and selecting Psi powers is cumbersome, especially during fights.
- In the reviewer's view, Prey builds on System Shock 2's foundations with more creative mechanics and open-ended approaches.
