Uncertain Future for SLK Clinic LöwensteinMedical departments will be relocated by 2029 due to legal changes and rising costs impacting the Löwenstein clinic.
- After nearly 70 years, the SLK Clinic in Löwenstein faces potential closure driven by economic and medical factors.
- The 2025 hospital supply improvement law and significant investment needs challenge the clinic's sustainability.
- Medical services are planned to move by 2029 to the Gesundbrunnen and Plattenwald SLK locations.
- About 500 employees will be informed and mostly reassigned, while the central kitchen and emergency services will remain for now.
Of course, this news isn't welcome for the employees in Löwenstein at first, but we want to keep all jobs in nursing and the medical professions.— Mathias Burkhardt, spokesperson for SLK-Kliniken, in an interview with SWR
