- Sandwell Council will review the licence on July 30; Hozan Sharify will face the committee as police and trading standards seek revocation.
- The shop was closed earlier this month under a three-month order issued by Dudley magistrates.
- Trading standards says illegal tobacco sales occurred there from at least December 2025, weeks after its licence was granted in November.
- Police and trading standards reported several test purchases, including illegal cigarettes supplied to an undercover underage test customer.
The sale of illicit tobacco and cigarettes is often linked to organised crime including people trafficking and immigration crime, exploitation, evasion of duty and money laundering.— West Midlands Police said this underscores the link between illicit tobacco and organised crime, following the shop's seizure and closure.
