Basel study finds no significant pollen link to test performanceIn a study published in April 2025, 392 participants completed online tests of cognitive performance over ten days.
- Before testing, researchers identified the individual allergy seasons of 392 participants using skin-prick tests.
- For ten days, participants completed four daily online tests covering attention, concentration, reaction time, and verbal and visuospatial memory.
- Researchers found no statistically significant associations between pollen exposure, symptom severity, and either overall scores or reaction times.
- Only grammatical reasoning showed a slightly longer reaction time when pollen concentrations were high.
