Niklas Süle Reveals Weight Struggles and RetirementAt 30, Süle retires after 400+ matches, shedding 10 kg through strict training and diet changes starting in 2024.
- Niklas Süle decided to end his professional football career at age 30, revealing long-term issues with his weight during his Bayern years.
- He resorted to extreme measures such as fasting and sauna sessions to meet the team's weekly weigh-ins.
- Despite these challenges, Süle played over 400 matches, winning five league titles and the Champions League.
- In 2024, Süle adopted a rigorous training and nutrition program with professional support, losing 10 kilograms before a knee injury ended his career.
And in the evenings at home I still went into the sauna. Wearing a rain jacket. And the next day I was two and a half kilos lighter.— Niklas Süle, describing his weight problems in his agency’s podcast.
