- Manager Henrik Pedersen confirmed the necessity to strengthen the left wing-back role ahead of the 7pm deadline on Monday.
- Following Harry Amass’ loan expiry and Yisa Alao’s Chelsea transfer, Reece Johnson remains the sole player available in that position.
- Johnson, who recently turned 20, started three consecutive Championship games but struggled against Wrexham’s skilled right wing-back.
- Pedersen highlighted the importance of bringing in an experienced left-sided player to support and mentor Johnson.
It is very important. You can see Reece, he does everything that he can. But also today he played against a very, very good player. But Reece is growing.— Henrik Pedersen, Manager of Sheffield Wednesday, discussing the need to strengthen left-sided options.
