- Nagra says the painful encounter ultimately gives Rachita closure, but she is unsure whether it changes the detective’s trust issues.
- Martyn names an alternative suspect linked to a murder victim, while Rachita suspects he is seeking a reduced prison sentence.
- Nagra says Rachita may still love Martyn but recognizes him as dangerous and refuses to be swayed by his emotional manipulation.
- Rachita must assess the lead cautiously and rely on her detective instincts because she expects possible traps and knows Martyn wants to leave prison.
It’s devastating actually, I think, for her because she probably still actually to some degree loves Martyn, and now she’s sat opposite this man who’s betrayed her.— Parminder Nagra, speaking to TV Insider about the D.I. Ray season 2 scene
