Dresden reviews tense situation at PostplatzNoise, litter and rising crime burden residents; in September, the prevention council is due to discuss possible solutions.
- Noise, litter, urination and rising crime are described as key problems for residents around Postplatz.
- The Greens reject a second city watch and instead call for a citywide strategy and more street social work.
- Jan Donhauser announced in early May that €270,000 was reserved for two more years of city-watch rent at Prager Spitze.
- Police presence has increased since July, according to Donhauser; in September, the prevention council is also due to discuss solutions.
The money for the City Watch's rent would be better invested in street social work— Katharina Ringler, Green Party city councillor and Altstadt district councilor in Dresden; arguing against the City Watch and for redirecting funds to street social work
