- The council approved a plan to erect memorial steles in German, English, and Hebrew at historically significant sites.
- The Bundeswehr actively supports the project, offering locations on its grounds and proposing Hebrew as the third language.
- These steles will detail Nazi-era events, Jewish heritage, the displaced persons camp, and cultural history starting from the train station.
- Funding is secured through foundations and donations, with ongoing efforts to involve the community in realizing the initiative.
We must face our historical responsibility as a community. We were not just an artists' colony, but were also strongly shaped by the Third Reich.— Mayor Bernhard Sontheim during the council meeting.
