- Bayern won the Telekom Cup 3–1 against RB Leipzig but had to deal with injuries to Konrad Laimer and Minjae Kim and Jamal Musiala collapsing, although Musiala has since been given the all-clear.
- Laimer left the match early after taking a blow to his foot, which quickly swelled and left him unable to walk; Max Eberl said the length of his absence remains unclear.
- Sacha Boey performed well during preseason and after replacing Laimer, but Bayern sees no long-term place for him alongside Stani and Konny as another right-back.
- Eberl still considers Boey’s departure possible if a suitable offer arrives, while it remains uncertain whether the Frenchman will be in the squad for the August 28 match against VfB Stuttgart; the European transfer windows close by September 1 at the latest.
Yes, injuries could change the situation, but keeping Sacha just because Konny is out for a week would be wrong from both a financial and sporting perspective.— Max Eberl, FC Bayern Munich sporting director, commenting on transfer policy in the Boey/Laimer situation
