- Fekete travelled to Amsterdam from July 3 for three days with his partner, who did not work for Citi.
- Citi managers suspected receipts covered meals for two people; Fekete initially claimed he had eaten alone.
- In August, he admitted his partner had eaten some food; an October review found he had breached policy.
- He was dismissed one month later; Employment Judge Illing subsequently sided with Citi at the tribunal.
I have found that this case is not about the sums of money involved. This case is about the filing of the expense claim and the conduct of the claimant thereafter.— Employment Judge Illing, East London Employment Tribunal, ruling in the Citi/Fekete case
