- The film follows Taek-sun, who falls uncontrollably in love after infection, creating unexpected entanglements.
- Filming was completed in 2019, but the release was delayed partly because of the pandemic.
- Bae cited her longstanding wish to work with Kim Yoon-seok as the main reason for joining the project.
- She described ‘Virus’ as an adult fairy tale rather than a typical romantic comedy, with cast chemistry considered essential.
The symptom of this virus is feeling good, so I smiled a lot in the movie, and it looked good to me. I also looked younger, which was a bonus.— Bae Doona, in an interview with The Kore Times.
