- An information meeting drew several hundred attendees to discuss developing the LB‑11 priority area of about 180 hectares into a large wind park.
- The municipality commissioned Schweizer‑Honold‑Energiesysteme (SHE) to negotiate with landowners and prepare a project company to keep economic benefits local.
- Although 13 turbines would be technically feasible, planners expect no more than ten across Eberdingen and neighboring Wiernsheim, with up to three turbines earmarked for a citizen cooperative.
- The schedule targets entering the permitting process mid‑year, possible construction in mid‑2027 and commissioning in early 2029, while annual land payments are estimated at roughly €70,000 per turbine.
I honestly don't know of any municipality that wants to implement this in this form.— Carsten Willing, Mayor of Eberdingen, at the information session about the planned wind park
