Abdulrahman El Bahnasawy was sentenced to 50 years after attacking two guards at Allenwood on December 7, 2020.

The sentence will run consecutively with his ongoing 40-year term for plotting a planned ISIS attack in New York.

He used a weapon made from a steel desk; one guard lost his right eye because of the attack.

In November 2025, he pleaded guilty to assault, intent to murder, prison contraband, and providing material support to ISIS.

Today’s sentence will further ensure that Bahnasawy remains in prison, where he can do much less harm, for a very long time.
— John Eisenberg, assistant attorney general for national security, in a U.S. Department of Justice press release
