I stand by what I said and I’ll always believe that.— Sophie Cunningham told reporters that she stands by her statements and that protecting children is important.

- On Sunday, critics and supporters of Sophie Cunningham’s position on transgender participation in women’s and girls’ sports gathered around and inside Target Center, making it the third consecutive Fever game accompanied by a rally.
- The Lynx, described as the WNBA’s top team, won 108-100 as Cheryl Reeve wore a message supporting trans children and fans in the stands showed similar support for trans children in sports.
- Cunningham and Reeve spoke on the court before the game, with Reeve declining to disclose the conversation’s exact substance while saying they both primarily wanted to educate but did not agree on every point.
- Cunningham was booed on her first touch and throughout the game; afterward, Caitlin Clark said the team’s focus was basketball and that leagues and governing bodies should work with athletes on solutions.
I wasn’t concerned about rallies against transgender participation in women’s sports becoming a distraction for the Fever. I think everyone who knows me personally, they know that I’m full of love. I’m bubbly. I love the people around me. I love basketball. I love inspiring the next generation and doing that in a positive light. And so that doesn’t even cross my mind. Doesn’t cross my teammates’ minds.— Cunningham said Friday in Portland
