Kennet Eichhorn’s market value rose to €20 million, significantly exceeding his contract release clause set around €9 million.

The player’s side demands a substantial signing bonus to cover the gap between the clause and current market value.

Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich withdrew from negotiations due to the overall €20 million cost package.

Bayer Leverkusen remains interested, while transfers to English clubs face age-related restrictions until Eichhorn turns 18.

Key FactsBVB Withdraws from Eichhorn Transfer over Signing Bonus

Jun 2, 2026 · Reading time: ~45 sec.
Summary created with AI assistance · Source: fussballtransfers.com

A significant signing bonus of around €10 million complicates the transfer of Kennet Eichhorn.

Recent reports indicate a buyout clause near €9 million, which covers only part of the full transfer expenses.

Borussia Dortmund considers the demanded bonus excessive and intends to exit the transfer negotiations.

Clubs like Liverpool, Bayer Leverkusen, and Bayern Munich continue to pursue Eichhorn despite the high price.

The stance in the club's offices is unequivocal: if Eichhorn chooses football development, he should come to BVB. If he values money more, he is in the wrong place at Borussia.
