Summary created with AI assistance · Source: pcgames.de
- Code Violet draws inspiration from Dino Crisis and blends features from Resident Evil and Dead Space, launching after multiple delays on January 10.
- International critics condemn its poor technical quality, outdated map designs, and unsatisfactory combat mechanics.
- The game holds a low Metacritic score of 40 out of 100, with user ratings dropping from 100 to 3.1 after 48 reviews.
- Reviewers highlight a weak storyline, lifeless characters, and numerous bugs that diminish the appeal of this survival horror title.
Code Violet is not the hoped-for successor to Dino Crisis. It can't even be considered a well-made clone of the numerous other third-person shooters, from which it copied most of its ideas. The outdated map layouts and the graphical style let the game's supposed predecessors down. The convoluted story and the flat, lifeless characters were simply exhausting. The bloodless enemies are boring, and far more alarming is the number of bugs in the test version.— Review by IGN of Code Violet (international press critique)
