- During a public festival in Bernau am Chiemsee, Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder was hit by a thrown tomato.
- The Traunstein prosecutor's office is investigating a 31-year-old man on suspicion of assault related to the incident.
- Initial findings suggest the act was spontaneous and motivated by personal dissatisfaction rather than political reasons.
- Security personnel subdued the suspect immediately, and politicians across parties condemned the attack.
You don't throw anything at people, not tomatoes or stones. That's something you teach even to very young children.— Katharina Schulze, Greens' state parliamentary group leader, commenting on the tomato-throwing incident against Söder at a political event.
