- Ifo chairman Idris Kusimo says the site in Yakoyo’s Isheri-Ojodu Ward lies in Ogun and disputes the Lagos sign’s placement.
- The Lagos government said boundary signs followed its Surveyor General’s specifications and were intended to clarify unclear demarcations.
- Information Commissioner Gbenga Omotoso acknowledged boundary signs at various locations on Wednesday but said he was unaware of the Yakoyo dispute.
- Kusimo asked Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to intervene and urged a boundary determination using official records, approved survey coordinates and relevant government documents.
“Over the years, the Lagos State Government has made several attempts to encroach on the Ogun State part of the area, which has always brought about confusion and unrest for residents.”— Idris Kusimo, chairman of Ifo Local Government Area, on the disputed boundary near Yakoyo–Ojodu.
