The association 'Kitzrettung Hergensweiler' employs drones equipped with thermal cameras to locate fawns hidden in tall grass before mowing.

Professor Dr. Dr. Werner Mang, a globally recognized aesthetic surgeon based in Lindau, financially supports the initiative and values wildlife protection.

Drones are primarily deployed in the early morning when temperature contrasts between fawns and their surroundings are most pronounced.

The price for a reliable drone with a thermal camera is about 7000 euros, while cheaper options often compromise image quality and search efficiency.
