- The Kindervater interior outfitter in Findorff will close after 90 years, with operations ending within a few weeks.
- Manager Katja Gravert, the founder's granddaughter, worked for nearly forty years and took over leadership in 2001, and no fourth-generation successor exists.
- Personal reasons, pandemic restrictions and prolonged scaffolding at the Gewoba corner building are cited as factors, although ongoing orders are still being completed.
- The closure affects eight trained upholsterers and sales staff, including two masters, and reflects a wider shortage of successors in the trade noted by the ZVR.
I have always loved this job.— Katja Gravert, granddaughter of the founder and managing director, said this in the context of the family's business closure.
