Animal rights activist Mirjam Schöberl raised concerns about leftover horsehair after the Weiden festival run, fearing risks to local pigeons.

The Nature Conservation Association considers the presence of horsehair harmless and sees no threat to wildlife.

Mayor Jens Meyer confirmed that the city’s public works department conducted a thorough cleaning of the streets post-event to eliminate hazards.

The event sparked differing views between conservationists and organizers on the environmental impact of the run.

This is a serious matter, and we must protect these birds.
— Mirjam Schöberl expresses concern about the situation of pigeons in Weiden and emphasizes the need for animal protection.
