- Lebenswert retrieves around 200 hybrid hens every three months from overcrowded floor housing farms to prevent their scheduled culling.
- Many rescued hens lack feathers due to poor conditions, so custom sweaters are made to keep them warm and protect wounds.
- Manuela Lang provides a 700-square-meter outdoor space for rescued hens, where they recover well and lay eggs nearly daily.
- More than 40 sweaters have been prepared for the December 15 rescue, with around 100 needed as protection also extends to summer sun exposure.
At least 100 animals die in the stalls every year.— Katharina Reinecke, animal rights activist and founder of the Lebenswert association, describing the conditions in the stalls
